Synthesis and Radical Copolymerization of Novel Phenyl-Disubstituted Propyl Cyanoacrylates- Juniper Publishers

Image
JUNIPER PUBLISHERS-   ACADEMIC JOURNAL OF POLYMER SCIENCE Abstract Novel phenyl-disubstituted propyl 3-(R-phenyl)-2-cyanoacrylates, RPhCH=C(CN)CO 2 C 3 H 7 (where R is 2-fluoro-5-methyl, 3-iodo-4-methoxy, 5-iodo-2-methoxy, 3,5-dichloro, 3,4-difluoro, 3,5-difluoro, 2-chloro-4-fluoro, 2-chloro-6-fluoro, 3-chloro-2-fluoro, and 3-chloro-4-fluoro) were prepared using condensation of substituted benzoic aldehydes and propyl ester of cyanoacetic acid. The ethynyl benzene copolymerization of novel cyanoacrylates was conducted in solution with radical initiation at 70 C. Nitrogen analysis, 1 H & 13 C NMR was used to analyze composition and the structure. Thermal behavior of the copolymers was analyzed by DSC and TGA. Keywords: Radical copolymerization; Styrene copolymers; Trisubstituted ethylene’s; Cyanoacrylates ...

Gellan Gum Immobilized Anticancer Drugs and Gold Nanoparticles in Nanomedicine-Juniper Publishers

Image
JUNIPER PUBLISHERS-   ACADEMIC JOURNAL OF POLYMER SCIENCE Abstract This review is devoted to recent progress in the design of anticancer drug delivery systems with participation of unique polysaccharide gellan gum. At first a brief literature survey on conformational and phase behavior of gellan gum as a function of external stimuli, such as temperature, pH, salt addition etc. is presented. Then the immobilization protocol of anticancer drugs and gold nanoparticles within gellan-based hydrogel matrix is discussed. Release of anticancer drugs from gellan gel matrix to outer solution is considered. Cytotoxicity of gellan gum-immobilized gold nanoparticles together with their anticancer activity...

Analysis of Non-Uniform Expansion Behavior of Injected EVA- Juniper publishers-Open access journals

Image
Juniper publishers- Academic Journal of Polymer Science Authored by   Schneider EL   Currently the sports footwear market is very competitive, in which it is sought to produce products that provide high performance, using technology in the production processes as well as in the materials used. One of the main materials used in the composition of soles and midsole of these products is EVA (Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate), which brings several benefits such as cost reduction, comfort, lightness and softness. The injection molding process is the most efficient for obtaining EVA soles, however, EVA undergoes large expansions that may vary according to its formulation and geometry of the desired model. The objective of this work is to analyze the non-uniform deformation of EVA, used in the injection molding processes, as well as one method used to correct such distortions that occur in the expansion of this material. For this, a bibliographic review was carried out ...

A Comparative Study of Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube Based Polystyrene and Toughened Polycarbonate Nanocomposites| Open access journals-Juniper Publishers

Image
Juniper Publishers- Academic Journal of Polymer Science  Authored by  Nisha Bagotia The main objective of this article is to describe the effect of different length (aspect ratio) of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on the electrical conductivity and electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of polystyrene/l-MWCNT and toughened polycarbonate/s-MWCNT composites. Long and short MWCNTs having aspect ratio of ~666 - 1333 and ~157 respectively were used for melt-mixed with polystyrene and toughened polycarbonate in a micro compounder. The uniform dispersion of MWCNT in matrix was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy. The realization shielding effectiveness value of -21dB respectively for PS/l-MWCNT composites: and -27dB for TPC/s-MWCNT composites at 10phr loading of MWCNTs, which show their potential use in making of mechanically strong and light weight EMI shield used for commercial application. The Making Process of Go/CT/PTFE Flat Sliding Plate of High-Speed Railway Bridge Spherical Bearings- Juniper Publishers

Image
Juniper publishers- Academic Journal of Polymer Science Authored by  Shou-ren Wang According to the rapid development of high-speed railway, the importance of spherical bridge bearings has attracted lots of attention as an essential connected part between bridge and pillar [1,2]. As you know, high-speed railway spherical bearings consist of upper bearings plate, spherical plate, under plate, flat stainless-steel plate, flat sliding plate, spherical stainless steel plate, spherical sliding plate, sealing ring, anchor bolt, dustproof shield [3,4]. Flat sliding plate is an indispensable part of spherical bearings since the displacement ability of bearings is determined by the sliding behavior between flat stainless-steel plate and flat sliding plate.
