The co-processed excipients help to overcome deficiencies occurring with use of single general grade excipients. Formulation scientist recognized that the single component excipient cannot always provide the essential performance in manufacturing or formulation to certain active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). Hence attention on the production of multifunctional excipient with improve performance was seen to meet the need of formulation.
