Synthesis of Chitosan-Co-Lactic Acid Nanoparticles and their Potential as a Carrier of Anticancer Drug

   JUNIPER PUBLISHERS-   ACADEMIC JOURNAL OF POLYMER SCIENCE Abstract This study aims to design some medicinally important biopolymer based Nano carriers. The study undertakes synthesis, characterization of Chitosan-co-lactic acid nanoparticles and optimization of swelling ratio. The Chitosan-co-lactic acid nanoparticles were prepared by the shaking of lactic acid emulsion in Chitosan solution by emulsion crosslinking method and characterised by transmission electron microscope (TEM) analysis (size), and Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR) (structural) and SEM (morphology). The particles were dispersed in a phosphate buffer saline (PBS) and the swelling response of these nanoparticles was studied as a function of chemical composition, pH and temperature of swelling medium. Ballistic Studies on Fox-7 Based Triple Base Propellant for High Calibre Gun-Juniper Publishers

                                         JUNIPER PUBLISHERS-   ACADEMIC JOURNAL OF POLYMER SCIENCE Abstract In the present work, triple base propellant (TBP) containing mainly energetic nitrate polymer nitrocellulose and nitroglycerine, picrite, 1,1-diamino-2,2-dinitroethene (FOX-7) along with ingredients such as stabiliser and plasticizer has been processed by solvent method. Picrite has been replaced in increments with FOX-7 from the propellant composition. Acetone: ethanol used as solvent to gelatinise/plasticize NC during processing. Formulation and Characterization of Glutathione-Loaded Bioadhesive Hydrogel for Ocular Delivery-Juniper Publishers

                                   JUNIPER PUBLISHERS-   ACADEMIC JOURNAL OF POLYMER SCIENCE Abstract Glutathione may prevent age-related, oxidative damage to ocular tissues but has poor corneal penetration. Hydrogel formulations were investigated to determine an optimized ocular delivery system. The rheology and texture profile of formulations were investigated at 25°C. The 1% w/v glutathione was incorporated into systems demonstrating desirable characteristics for ocular vehicles and physical characteristics re-determined. In vitro cumulative glutathione delivery across the bovine cornea was measured over 8 hours at 32ÂșC in Franz diffusion cells. Carbopol-containing Poloxamer systems exhibited shear-thinning behavior desirable for ocular formulations whilst Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and Polyacrylic acid (PAA) systems exhibited Newtonian behavior.
