Synthesis of Chitosan-Co-Lactic Acid Nanoparticles and their Potential as a Carrier of Anticancer Drug

Image
JUNIPER PUBLISHERS-   ACADEMIC JOURNAL OF POLYMER SCIENCE Abstract This study aims to design some medicinally important biopolymer based Nano carriers. The study undertakes synthesis, characterization of Chitosan-co-lactic acid nanoparticles and optimization of swelling ratio. The Chitosan-co-lactic acid nanoparticles were prepared by the shaking of lactic acid emulsion in Chitosan solution by emulsion crosslinking method and characterised by transmission electron microscope (TEM) analysis (size), and Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR) (structural) and SEM (morphology). The particles were dispersed in a phosphate buffer saline (PBS) and the swelling response of these nanoparticles was studied as a function of chemical composition, pH and temperature of swelling medium. To determine the encapsulation efficiency, a centrifugation method was applied. Also, the assessment of biocompatibility has been made on the basis of two in-vitro test which are BSA adsorption te...

Waste Plastic as Energy Material: End-Of-Life Polymer Design-Juniper Publishers

JUNIPER PUBLISHERS- ACADEMIC JOURNAL OF POLYMER SCIENCE Abstract Waste plastic poses a dire threat to life on earth and addressing this crisis must be considered to be a priority in the field of polymer science. In this piece, several approaches to waste plastic handling are discussed, with their costs, benefits and potential for sustainability briefly outlined. Keywords: Waste plastic; Plastic pollution; Polymer; Environmental impact Introduction Virtually every eco-system on Earth is threatened by plastic pollution, directly or indirectly [1-6]. The persistent toxic nature of plastic once it has entered the environment means that plastic pollution is, arguably, a more severe long-term environmental threat than climate change. Polymer research must therefore consider environmental impact as an urgent priority for ensuring the survival of the polymer industry and, indeed, the human species. It follows that polymer design phi...

A Review on Plastic Behavior of Polymer Sheets and Forming Process-Juniper Publishers

Image
Authored by Eun Ho Lee Abstract This paper presents a mini review about plastic behaviour of polymer sheets. The fundamental of plasticity and concept of constitutive modeling are introduced. As an application of the plastic behaviour, studies on forming process of polymer sheets are presents. Finally, the future woks are also discussed in the conclusion section. Keywords: Polymer; Plastic behaviour; Forming; Target temperature; Lightweight; Metal flow Introduction Polymer is one of widely used material due to the great availability and low cost. For mass production, moulding and extrusion technologies have been widely employed for polymer processing in industries [1]. Recently, automotive industries are trying to reduce the weight of the vehicles for improving the fuel efficiency [2]. For the reason, they have an interest in polymer materials, and many researchers have studied mechanical behavior of polymer materials. Fi...
